Follow the vacuum hose from the turbo waste gate to the controller on the drivers side near the brake master cylinder. I do believe they make three different ones. Mine has a green dot on it and I have replaced it once since 2000 when I bought the truck.

If you look at the turbo from under the rig (underneath the rig behind the drivers wheel) you should see a rod that is connected to the stepper motor. Whilst looking at this rod get someone to turn ignition on (Engine NOT running) (Rig in neutral or park with handbrake on so rig wont move or crush anyone!).

You can leave the MAF sensor in stock location, which mean the turbo is before it. That's my setup. As long as the MAF sensor is at least 12 inches after the BOV, you should be ok. The only problem that you'll have when the BOV too closed to the MAF is the engine will stall if you let off the gas when boosting hard.

Need help from another diesel owner. I'm pretty sure I have either a faulty Boost Sensor or a faulty Boost Control Solenoid but I can't figure out which it is. I need to borrow someones diesel to swap the parts 1 at a time to find which is the problem. I can swap each part in about 3 minutes so I wouldn't need much of your time.

As eightinavee said boost problems normally relate to EGR faults or turbo actuators. Aug 03, 2013 · I had 1 diagnostic done a couple of days ago with the code # XXXXX so I bought and replaced the map sensor yesterday. As soon as I replaced it I drove the truck for a test and it immediately went into limp mode so I went to a mechanic and ran another diagnostic and the readout said turbo boost sensor. He could not remove the code.

The MAP sensor is what controls the boost, it's on the inlet manifold and has two functions, pressure and temperature of air, this adjusts boost and fueling via the ecu depending on throttle position. Where are you reading map pressure from ? It should be about 4 psi at idle then 7 at 60mph and anything up to 15 or so at full power.
Got a check engine light and need to replace the turbo boost pressure sensor. What's even more interesting is that you know you need a boost sensor but can't find it to replace it, how did you determine it is faulty?
